Welcome to Toolmaker Microscopes website store. We supply good quality units at discount prices. Toolmakers microscopes are used for measuring distances, diameters of holes, screw thread angles, and determining wear of tooling edges. They are used in machine shops, mechanical fastener manufacturing facilities, and in tool manufacturer. They can be fitted with either manual micrometers or digital micrometers.
A toolmaker microscope is typically monocular, with only one viewing ocular. This is because of the nature of its application. It will generally be used with a special eyepiece containing a reticle with a crosshair, measuring scale, or special markings for measuring threads and angles. Since an eyepiece reticle is only used in one eyepiece, there is no need to have a binocular toolmaker microscope system. To measure a distance, simply locate the X-Y crosshair on the beginning point to measure. Move the stage using the X and / or Y stage micrometer until the crosshair is on the end point, then read the micrometer distances. To measure depth, a linear micrometer is used. One plane can be in focus, and the head can be rasised or lowered until the next plane is in focus. The difference is Z direction of the planes can be read from the linear micrometer.
A toolmakers microscope also has special holding blocks to hold various machined specimens for inspection and measuring. Whatever your needs are for toolmaker microscopes, please contact us so we can make a recommendation.
